How to make a handmade lantern

Material:

1. Cardboard paper
2. Glue
3. Light bulb shank, bulbs, wires
4. Tools: Pencil, ruler, scissors, paper cutting knife, paint, glue or glue gun. 

Proceed:

1. Step 1:

To make a handmade lamp from cardboard, about 22 squares are needed:

– First, use a pencil and ruler to draw a large square with a side of 20cm on cardboard. Then draw 5 gradually smaller squares inside, measuring so that each shape is 1cm apart until the drawing is completed as shown in the photo.

– Do the same 3 more square sets on another cardboard sheet.

– Next, use a paper cutter to cut the drawn squares. Once completed, you can have squares of gradually smaller sizes, dividing the shapes evenly into odd-even sets to perform the next steps.

 

2. Step 2:

     - Arrange the shapes in order of above photo. Use glue or a glue gun to stick the squares.

Arrange the remaining three sides similarly in the following form:

     - Arrange the square with the small shape whose corner connects to the edge of the large shape.

     -Arrange the squares in a spiral shape with the corners in turn.

     -Arrange squares on the bottom edge.

3. Step 3:

Assemble the blocks you just pasted in step 2 into four sides of an empty square box with bottom and top sides to form a lamp frame.

Note that you should install the squares one after another to form a sturdy support structure. It's best to use a glue gun, with enough glue to make it easier to stick the edges of the cardboard, or use a quick-drying glue.

Similarly, you can assemble the other square blocks one by one according to the instructions below! In turn until all 4 sides of the square are gone, the exposed top part will be a large square, that part will become the handmade lamp base from cardboard.

4. Step 4:

To make the top of a handmade lamp from cardboard, cut a rectangle 18x5cm long (size can be changed to suit the thickness of the cardboard you have. In the middle, cut a square or round hole. This part will used as a lamp holder base for later installation.

5. Step 5:

To make the lamp base, take advantage of a few leftover squares from step 1 and arrange them according to your preference to increase the uniqueness of your handmade cardboard lantern product.

6. Step 6:

Paste the base you just made on the bottom of the moonlight box to complete the product. Then you install the LED lights and complete your product.

The lamp model you just created can be used both as a Mid-Autumn Festival lamp and as an extremely cute table night lamp.
