Structure and characteristics of Yin-Yang carton boxes

A Yin-Yang carton box consists of two parts: a top lid and a bottom base:

  • Yin part: the bottom section, also called the base.
  • Yang part: the upper section that covers the outside, also called the lid.

Key considerations in producing Yin-Yang carton boxes

The production process includes printing, slotting, and box gluing—similar to other standard carton boxes. However, one important point to note is that during the slotting stage for Yin-Yang carton boxes, the Yin (base) and Yang (lid) parts must have a slight different at a specific point. This technique must be executed precisely to ensure easy packing later on and to provide better structural strength for the carton during transportation.

In some cases, when the box size exceeds the width limit of the corrugating machine, the manufacturer will work with the customer to find a suitable solution for joining the box while still meeting both technical and aesthetic requirements. The joint position, joining method, and the type of adhesive used are all critical factors that need careful consideration to ensure overall quality.
